According to 2020 Bloomberg Innovation Index, South Korea’s Six-Year Streak as Most Innovative Nation  is handed to Germany this year. Germany took the first place in the 2020 Bloomberg Innovation Index after South Korea’s six-year winning streak, while the U.S. fell one notch to No. 9.  South Korea ranks the second in this year's innovative index rankings on the list of 60 countries, which has held the top spot for six consecutive years from 2014 to 2019. South Korea scores 88.16 points by 0.05 points less than Germany that scores 88.21 points. The third place is Singapore (87.01 points), three steps up from last year (sixth place). Switzerland (85.67 points) ranks fourth, same as last year. In the fifth place is Sweden (85.50), two places rise from last year (seventh). DuPont, global chemical material manufacturer, will build a factory in South Korea for manufacturing Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) Photo-Resist, a core semiconductor material. EUV Photo-Resist is one of the three major products that Japan has restricted last year to S.Korea. It is expected that domestic procurement will kick off in early next year. According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of S.Korea, DuPont filed an investment report with S.Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on September 9 to build a EUV Photo-Resist production factory in S.Korea. On August 8, Mr. YUNMO SEON’, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of S.Korea, met directly with the President John Kemp of DuPont of the United States.
